pull the sheet over my eyes
Who: Vicky Walls When: a couple nights after the run-in with Thane Where: Vicky's apartment What: she's screwed Rating: PG Status: complete
Vicky was screwed. She knew that from the moment the vampire hadn't gone down on the first hit. But she had thought she was dead at that point, too. There wasn't another option between vampires and humans. They didn't deserve to live, and she knew better than to expect pity from them.
And yet, she was strangely at peace with the situation. And for a day, she was still a little stunned. He had done something to her mind, clearly. Normally she'd be raising a fuss and demanding to go out and stake him asap. He had seen her face. Her identity was compromised.
And she got this weird feeling that she was being watched while out on assignment.
The phone call was hard to make, but the stalker feeling was what finally did it. They might have figured out her identity. They had certainly seen her face. She was going to have to go under the radar for a while, for the sake of the Lancers. Dye her hair. Call in sick at work. Vampires were all over, watching her.
Yet, the thought of the vampire from the other night watching her didn't bother her.
Clearly, he had done something to her mind.
"The night has a thousand eyes, and the day only one." She paused, the phone held to her ear. "Hey, E." Deep breath. "They saw my face."
Elliot came to the logical conclusion. She was screwed.
