WHO: Daphne Childs & Nilsson WHEN: Noon WHERE: Thierry's Mansion SUMMARY: Daphne left Black Dawn, because she couldn't handle the atmosphere, that and she really needs to get her things, and she didn't want to go home home, because home home is in the same state which is bad. RATING: PG-13 STATUS: complete
It wasn't home, but it felt safer here in the mansion. Despite the flowers she'd gotten before she'd left, it didn't matter. Everyone here knew her, and she knew them sort of. It'd be a process, but it was a process she was willing to take. She'd called her mom to tell her that she had to stick around because some of her friends were in trouble. The woman was concerned she was falling into her old bad habits again, but Daphne reassured the woman that wasn't the issue. Luckily, her mom, having been scared of losing her once before was allowing her to have this space. Probably because she promised she'd come right home when everything was finally over.
She wasn't much of a help to anyone up at Black Dawn. Sure she could mechanically go about her business, but she wasn't there mentally. She was just floating around in morbid thoughts, left to daydream and at night she could hear the screaming and she couldn't sleep. To say she looked like hell was an understatement. She'd been set up in another room, not the same as the last one, but it was quiet here. She felt like she could breathe and she wanted to bury herself under the covers and fade away for a while.
Instead, she sat down and breathed in deeply, repeating this a couple of times to calm herself down. Opened the door, and stepped out into the hallway. She'd managed to sleep on the plane, and she really didn't want to be left alone to her own thoughts right now. They tended to melt into a crazy bout of depression she didn't want to face, and what was better than sitting around depressed? Going out and doing some sort of work, whether it was hunting, recon, or underwater basket weaving. Anything. Anything would be better. She probably should try and eat something too. Not eating for a couple of days was not good. So she headed towards the kitchen.
