Dawn's eyes were half closed, and she was mostly just kind of zoning in front of the tv. At this point, she didn't even really care what was on. As long as it was noise. Something to keep her distracted, and keep her mind from wandering to bad, unhappy thoughts. Even though Buffy had mostly assuaged her fears, the teen still had nightmares.
And tonight she was attempting to avoid them as much as possible.
"Cartoons? Isn't it a bit late for Bugs Bunny?" A small smile slid across Dawn's face as she tore her eyes away and watched Tara walk over. When the blonde joined her beneath the blanket, she shifted a little, then snuggled close to rest her head against the witch's arm. "S'never too late for Bugs. Bunny, that is." "Couldn't sleep either? She shrugged a little. "Not really." Okay, so it was more like she didn't want to go to sleep-nothing wrong with that, right?
"You couldn't?" Her head moved a little so she could somewhat look up at her friend. Even though Tara had been involved in the bringing Buffy back spell, Dawn hadn't really been mad at her-not like she had been at Willow. Tara had been somewhat closer to Dawn, this entire time. She understood what it was like to lose family, and so the two shared an extra special connection. It had been Tara who'd sometimes held her at night as she cried herself to sleep. She'd been like a surrogate sister, and sometimes a mom.
Now, she was a friend again, but Dawn still didn't want to lose that connection.
