She quieted at that and shifted a little so her tail bone wasn't pressed quite so hard against the bench. "We're fine," she said quietly. She was starting to wonder, a little, if Snape's over attentiveness had more to do with Sirius telling him to leave her alone then it did with anything else.
"He's just a git."
She remembered the day he'd followed her to the library and the feeling of fear that had prickled down her back. Reflexively her palm rubbed over her thigh, right over the spot where her scar was. She felt the familiar tightening of her throat when she thought of it, her mind shutting itself down and she blinked for a moment before looking back up at him.
"So far I've been able to handle him." Sirius was watching her with the hang dog look he usually had and she couldn't help but sigh. "You know. You are the one who told me I should find someone else. You do remember that, don't you?"
