Mary didn't look up from her book for a moment, counting to thirty in her head before realizing he wasn't going to just get up and leave her alone. This was Sirius Black she was talking about.
"What-" She broke off and stared at the red Tulip held gently in between his fingers.
The sight of it made her take in a little breath, and to her horror, she felt tears prickle at her eyes.
"Not funny," she said, keeping her expression even as she looked back up at him.
