There was slight confusion, but it wasn't anything negative. It was just strange to have people being so nice to him without some sort of agenda. The only other people that were nice like that were teachers, but it was their job to act as such as students, but this... this was just kindness from the heart and not for a paycheck. One specific police officer was quite sympathetic and nice, even if he had a stoic attitude on the outside, but before getting a chance to actually know the man Twelve ended up away from everything and in this land of Titans instead.
"Well..." he started off, dragging his words, "if the food is really really good then maybe I'd want to be in your family." it was sort of a teasing manner, just like his old request in every video when he'd ask for someone that could cook as a side joke to lighten the mood during their bomb location riddles. "I mean, I'm pretty good at cleaning up." The cleaning usually came because of having something explode near his face; trial and error led to plenty of messes, but because of having to be really gentle with materials he normally did keep areas clean too just to prevent something as small as one too many dust particles causing something to not work right or get jammed. A clean work station is a happy work station, or whatever the weird signs he had around his tables would say.
"I guess you're right though. Being surrounded by the science club in school led me to learn about stuff I never really thought of before, so it can't be much different." He figured if he asked Al about it he'd hear the most important things about alchemy, text book type of stuff or maybe from his brother. However, with how this Roy guy sounded, maybe asking him would be interesting too. So far it sounded like he might be a bit of a show-off which meant he'd probably be entertaining. It wasn't a bad thing, but for some reason he kind of was drawn to show-offish people or those with some type of ego. It wasn't even in any teasing way, it was just sometimes nice when some someone else would do all the talking.
"I could always fix it myself once I get the right materials, but if I want to see that alchemy stuff, then maybe I can ask one of them to fix my clock that I accidentally broke. It shouldn't be too much of an exchange for something... I think. I was just working on making it pretty neat to have different light patterns and actions depending on the hours and the wrong wires touched and..." he stopped and spread his fingers to indicate a 'boom'. "It shattered, not to complete pieces but enough where I'd have to make the body from scratch again, though I still have all the broken bits."
