"Apple pie? I've never had that before." Twelve lived off of microwave dinners and rice before being in this place and then just whatever food was in the Garrison barracks. Actually he hadn't had many baked goods in general other than cheap doughnuts he used to get from the small store whenever he had to wait for his motorcycle to be filled up with gas again. Even in this place he didn't get the luxury of those annoying plastic wrapped snacks.
"Much better than flowers!" he confirmed as he started to move himself into the alley more to get away from the sunlight beaming on him or some other reason. "It will be just as color as flowers if it goes right." He wasn't sure when he wanted to go, but his head dipped down. This was all too nice, too generous. People were not like this unless they wanted something in return. However, still... the colors and feathers never lie... but still, this wasn't normal.
Twelve couldn't handle himself well, and although deep down he was a good kid, he was still mentally scarred from all the tests, chemical injections and lies; the throbbing headache was coming back. He was conflicted, really liking this person, wanting to trust his own mutated ability and wanting to trust humanity, but it was tough, especially when everyone except Nine always hurt him. If Nine was around he'd probably be able to snap Twelve back to his senses, but Twelve was the weaker of the two when it came to staying stable.
Although Twelve had his issued gear on, he reached in his coat for a knife he always kept instead. If he was followed away from people then it was out with his expression being a grimace of pain, yet a small curl to his lips as he was in confusion of both agony and feeling blessed. It's too fortunate. Nobody does this for me.
"What do you want from me?" he questioned in a threatening, yet obviously weak manner. He was more upset at himself than Maes. "You adults always want to fuck me over in the end." Although he was almost an adult himself, his mentality was still much younger. "Tell me or get you out of the way before it hurts again."
