Maybe it was that there were so many kids milling about. Maybe it had to do with Dani being so close and him not wanting to air drama in front of her. Maybe it was because he'd promised Ron he'd be nicer in general. Maybe it was the fact that his mother was not that far away and at any moment could decide to stop by the booth and that was NOT a pleasant prospect. Whatever the reason, Dan clamped down on his instinctive reaction - to bluntly tell her, yet again, that they weren't friends and never had been. What he did tell her was simple. "I have work to do Bonnie," Dan said, motioning to the little girl behind her. "I don't have time to talk." Now or later - but he had a feeling that with as tenacious as this O'Hare had proved to be, he'd eventually have to make way for one more conversation. "Maybe later."
