Even if Peter wanted to argue with Marlene, he was in no state to do so. Her look matched with the offer of tea made him think that maybe he should just go along with what she was recommending and really, a shower did sound incredibly soothing. He wanted to just curl up with her and call it a night but he did promise her otherwise - they would be going out and that was that.
With the slightest shrug, Peter gave her a grin and nodded his head, closing his eyes with a bit of thought. "Yeah, Mar, that sounds right." He gave a smile and excused himself from the room with a little bow. A shower was definitely in order and he had to take one before he got plant bits all over the floor.
----- The shower was refreshing and he did appreciate the fact that Marlene gave him that chance to get to be alone for a few minutes. The shower was quick and he felt so much better afterward; if only he had more hours in his day to get on with what he wanted to do, the short showers would never be an issue again.
As he voyaged into the living room, Peter was quick to brush his hands through his hair and shake out the rest of the water left in it. "Better," he said softly, walking over to his blonde friend. With consideration and very careful hand placement, Peter wrapped his arms around her and sighed. "You're aces, my lady. Absolutely aces."
