Marlene spent her day in the best possible way - doing absolutely nothing. She slept in much later than she would normally allow herself, and generally lazed around the house until it was time for her to get ready to meet Peter. Their plans were nebulous at best, so after tidying herself up she threw on a pair of shorts, pinned her hair back in a mess bun, and called it a day. She'd gotten ready faster than she'd anticipated, and found herself pacing in her living room, glancing over at the clock every fifteen seconds. After ten minutes of this, she scoffed aloud at the ridiculousness of her behaviour. It was still only fifteen past six, and Peter wouldn't even be off work until seven. There was no need for her to be worrying holes into her rug, time would pass at the same exact speed it always did. She forced herself to sit down and read, but after three minutes of rereading the same line over and over, she decided that she could wait just as easily at Peter's house. Maybe he'd get off early, and he had said to meet him there.
With that decision made, she grabbed her wand and vanished, reappearing in Diagon Alley seconds later. She made her way to Scrivenshaft's and then up the stairs to the place he called home, using the key he'd given her to let herself in. Now that she was in the small flat that he called home, the anxiousness she'd felt at her own home wore off. Waiting wasn't so terrible if she could do it in a place that smell like him, she thought as she nestled down on the sofa, flicking through her journal to pass the time.
