IC INTERACTIONS - Marauders & Lily
James sighed loudly and ruffled his hair, something he often did when words failed him. Sirius was likely correct, it did seem awfully suspicious that Regulus would just turn back up again right around the time that they were asked to go and find this artifact. There were too many questions which needed answering, and James hated not knowing all the facts - especially when it may come to his friends safety.

Looking to Remus and Pete, James could see the pair had their own inner monologues going, and Lily, well even she seemed hard to read right now. One thing was certain, they were relying on James for a decision. Putting aside the urge to talk too much about Regulus's arrival for now, James spoke.

"Without knowing for sure, i'd say you're almost definitely right there, brother--," he said, nodding at Sirius, "so let's look at the facts. For whatever reason, Regulus is back, and under the Order's protection. Dumbledore has specifically asked us to enter Hogwarts and search for an item which is protected by dark magic which leaves traces, and finally, and perhaps most importantly," he paused, "this information was given to Dumbledore by someone completely anonymous"

It was not that James wasn't able to trust Dumbledore, but he wanted his friends to understand that they were going on someone else's say so here, and for that reason they should take extra precaution. With another quick sigh, James adjusted his glasses, that had slowly moved down his nose during his speech.

"Lils, Remus," he continued, "if you could both start looking into any ways that we may be able to track these 'traces' of dark magic?", he asked, knowing that they would be the best equipped for that particular task. "Pete, we're going to need to find out when our opportune moment will be to search the castle", he said, looking over to his mate that despite the circumstances seemed pleased to have been given a job personally. "Sirius," he paused, eyeing his friend who seemed decidedly paler than earlier this evening, "I hate to ask this of you given tonight's events, but the more we can learn about all this from Regulus, the better," he said, fighting hard to resist the urge from putting a hand upon his shoulder.

After a brief moment of silence, James spoke again. "Once we know a little more, we will agree on when we undertake this task," he said, straightening up to release a bit of tension, "in the mean time, i'll work on what we may need to take with us," he paused, "Any questions?"
