Upon receiving the email, if they decide they are no longer interested in maintaining their presence in the community, then that is there place to judge and not your own. Knowledge of this process will help you be aware in the future, and perhaps when you've interacted and then finished your interaction, you can save that data to look back on beyond the point of their own personal interest.
