Sorry I haven't updated this space in quite awhile. I have been very very busy as of late. I do want to apologize for not fixing any of the outstanding bugs for quite awhile. Lately all the time I have had to put into the site have been either just keeping it running or answering what ever support requests I have time to answer.

I do still have a todo list of items that need to be fixed on the site. I don't want to make any promises as to when things will be fixed, as each time I do, something seems to happen and I am not able to get to it. I will say that I hope to have a few things done soon.

I am aware that there are some problems with the site during peak hours, and I am on the site working to keep it working every single night. I still have volunteers who notify me when there are problems and I do my best to respond in a timely manner.

So to clear up some rumors, I am still alive and doing well. I am here all the time and I am doing the best that I can. I am working on getting some help on the site.

Our goals for 2009 are to increase site stability and clean up some lingering bugs. Until that is done we are not going to be introducing new features, as we want to have a very stable a secure platform to build upon.

    if that's the case, i can't wait for the new year! thanks for keeping us up to date, squeaky. sometimes that's enough to keep people happy, we hate being kept in the dark. especially since that's all system ever did for us on gj.

    I have an unrelated question that I can't find a question to in the FAQ's. I'd like to get a paid account for this journal and was wondering about how many pictures you get with a paid and how many the "bonus userpics" bumps that up to. :)

    Thanks for letting us know you are still working on stuff. I'm ok with not seeing any new features as long as the site is actually running. I just spend five days straight trying to track down a bug on my home system, so you have my sympathy about trying to keep this site running, fix known bugs, squash new ones *AND* hold down a full-time paying job in the real world.

    Actually, pal, after the craziness that was Greatest Journal this place is a haven of peace and the occasional bug doesn't bother me that much. IJ is like a much loved and played with dog that farts occasionally. I can live with that very happily.

    Thanks for the wave and letting us know you're still alive and kicking! Was getting a little concerned as you'd always been 'visible' by your regular posts on the front page, just like this one, so as it had been a month and no word? Shoot me, I'm a mother!

    Good luck with the increasing stability - would be much happier to see that and OK with the new features coming in after that. ;)

    Hey Squeaky,

    I'm getting data unavailable errors. Something about cluster 3, I don't even know. But, I had to try again three times in order to sign on.

    I admire your determination, I do. But, heavens know I look forward to the day IJ is error free, situation free, and running smoothly.

    Hopefully that's closer than the latter.

    will a way to disable the private message feature on an account ever be established? when people can't comment, sometimes they use the PM feature to harass a person and i think it'd be nice if it could be turned off in the event of unwanted messages or make it friends only, etc.

      he made a post about it in his journal a while back, he's putting it on hold to fix other bugs. i'd recommend backing up your comments periodically.

        well the fact that they're still happening and he can't figure out why makes me worry this site is going to end like gj. it's kind of a big problem to have on a journal site you want people to use.

          i agree that it's a big problem, but if you try and try and can't figure something out and there are other smaller things you can work on, there's something to be said for stopping and fixing the smaller things first and getting back to it.

    Oooh, I haven't bought any permanent accounts in awhile because the site was kind of shaky, but it's been pretty stable for me lately so I have faith in it again. If you have another permanent account sale for $30 in the near future I'll buy another one for one of my existing accounts and help you out a little. Glompies!

    i just wasn't sure where else to post this, but i recently gifted a friend with rename tokens, but they checked the email on the journal i sent them to and it's using their tmail which doesn't send ij notifications and i was wondering if there was a way to get those rename tokens :-(

    Just wanted to warn you to perhaps batten down the hatches and brace for impact. I've seen reports that SUP has laid off a bunch of LJ employees and when something like that happens there are bound to be people jumping off that particular ship and looking for alternate sites.

      I just saw that. I will be keeping a very close eye on things. If it gets too busy, we will hold an emergency fund raising sale and get more servers
