New Design Live

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry
Well, as most of you can see, the new site design has been pushed live. I didn't get much feedback, but the feedback I did get was mostly positive. If you just can't stand the new site scheme, there are still older designs available. Just go to http://www.insanejournal.com/manage/siteopts.bml and you can select from the varitey of site schemes we have created over the years.

I would like to send a big thank you to those of you who tested this site design and provided feedback so I could be sure things worked.
  • I already posted this question once, but I'm still curious and haven't gotten an answer. lol.

Will you be upgrading all the schemes?
    • i use a different scheme as well.. so yes, im going to get him to redo them all. Heh, Be patient, it will happen.
      • OKays. I was just asking. Thanks. :-D
  • The entry box doesn't work in Firefox rc1...

Well, it does, but I don't find black-on-black the most legible of colour combinations so I'm going to have to switch to another scheme to make posts.
    • Re: The entry box doesn't work in Firefox rc1...

I am assuming that you are speaking abou the Rich Text Editor.

Ive had this problem in the past myself with Firefox. I foudn that if your right click in the box and select This Frame->Reload Frame, it loads the proper background.

I have been unable to reliably re-create this and in fact use Firefox 1.0PR myself.

Maybe it's just me, but everytime I enter the home page on the site, it's still the same orange-y Honeycomb theme. Have you considered switching the default themes sometimes (like to the Hand, Anime, or Brown themes)? It may not be much to attract new users, but sometimes it's all in how much impact color can make when a potential user first pops onto IJ. I think the blues/grays of the Hand theme, for example, are more appealing than the orange. Just a small suggestion. :)
    • This theme was decided on by a community vote. I have been considering coming up with an entirely new scheme though. It would not be fair for me to just change the scheme to something else when someome worked really heard to win this via a contest.
  • web clients...

i would deeply appreciate it if you updated the webclients page, i like to update alot. and its harder with out a webclient...

    thanks,
    morgan
    • Re: web clients...

Though there are several webclients that do work with InsaneJournal. I have not, as of yet, been able to certify, or write documents for using any of them with InsaneJournal. If you would like to volunteer, or know someone who would, I would be willing to make said person the moderator of the ij_clients community which would be used for discussing and submitting clients and documentation on those clients.
