Update on SSL

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry
The update to SSL has caused some layouts to have errors.

The issue is most browsers won't load HTTP content from an HTTPS site. If you have custom layers or are using custom CSS that is loaded from off site, or loads images or other content from off site, your problem lies there. You'll need to update your custom code to change any URLs from http:// to https://

If you are having trouble hosting on a secure site, please let me know and I'll see what I can do to assist.
  • Thank you!

Hilarious fact: I already have the SSL certificate and everything, but deliberately allowed http to still work so I could just go with the flow. At least it's a much easier fix than editing a couple hundred posts to change all the URLs in them!
    • Please post in here if it works so others can do the same thing if needed.
      • Unfortunately, it seems the browser is still picking up that the urls coded into the post are http, and when I right click > view image info, it leads to the http url. Which is weird, because right click > view image gives the correct https version. Not sure if this is just because I use an outdated browser (long story short: HP won't update graphics drivers for my laptop and newer browsers BSOD me) or what, so if you or anyone else wants to see if the images display on modern browsers, here's my most recent icons post.
