So we are alive. I'll edit this space soon to provide a full description of what happened and what you should expect to see.

Due to the corruption in the database, when we recovered the friends table there were some discrepancies. You will need to validate your friends and your custom friends groups. We have cleaned this as much as we can, but we realize there are definitely a number of inconsistencies. We deeply apologize for this.

There are reports of errors uploading userpics. Please let me know what the errors you are seeing are.

If you are having an issue with not being able to see locked posts in asylums. You will need to have the moderator account re-add everyone to the asylum. Please be sure if you re-add the moderator account, you have a separate moderator you can let you back in and re-add you.

We found a misconfiguration on our servers that was causing email to not get delivered. This has been resolved.

    I just created this account (remaking it since I had originally created it a week or so ago) and it has someone else's entry posted in it from 2/27, despite the account being made 3/6. Just for FYI!

    It would appear that something has gone wrong and turned on random custom colors for friends lists? I don't personally use custom colors for my friends lists and now they're all random shades of blues and greens. I'm not sure if this is something that is happening for everyone but thought it best to make you aware of it in case that it was.

    Thank you for everything you do, Squeaky. We appreciate your hard work to fix these problems.

    Is there any easy fix for the duplicate-number error on comments? I understand for updates pressing a few times will get you to an unassigned number and you can post, but for comments I'd have to re-try hundreds of times based on how much commenting I did between 2/13 and when the site came back. Any advice would be great, thank you!

    I'm getting this error when commenting in my community/asylum entry.

    One or more errors occurred processing your request. Please go back, correct the necessary information, and submit your data again.

    Database Error: There was an error posting your comment to the database. Please report this. The error is: Duplicate entry '4070021-6090' for key 'PRIMARY'

    you can't leave comments, even refreshing many times won't send them through.

    you can't view posts in communities, even if you are a member of them.

    notifications don't seem to be working either, if the comment goes through.

    Thanks for all your hard work! Is not being able to see friends posts that I could see before something each of my friends will have to fix individually?

    When logged into my maintainer account for my friend locked community in which I am the only one who posts on it. I cannot see any of the posts, nor do I use custom filters. I'm assuming this is to do with the corruption but I hope it will be corrected in time.

    An error I've found: I can't seem to create new tags. I can tag a post with tags already created, but creating new tags doesn't work.

    I've tested this by trying to create tags in editjournal.bml, edittags.bml, and manage/tags.bml

    When using the Admin Console located here: http://www.insanejournal.com/admin/console/ I've found that the "friend remove" command does not work and it states that a journal is not listed as being a friend (despite the fact that it is).

    The "friend add" command DOES work though! But quick removal of journals to attempt to fix the issue on this end doesn't work via the Admin Console, not sure if it's tied to the problem table, but thought I'd better let you know. :) You can still remove friends manually via the edit friends page, but it's a little difficult at the moment.

    Email verifications are not being sent at all - have tried sending emails to several different addresses and they are not coming through at all

    question. why would you put the site back online when custom friend groups still are broken and literally everyone is having their privacy invaded, unnecessarily so?

    One issue I've found is when refreshing to try to post a comment, it eventually leads to a blank screen that can't be refreshed any more. It'll do it ten or so times.

    This is an error I got before this whole thing happened, but while we're at it - I always get this message when trying to join a comm (although it does let me do it, it's confusing to receive it for people not used to it)

    "[Error: LJ::Event::CommuinityJoinRequest passed bogus u object: (my comm's name) @ animal]"

    Thank you thank you thank you for getting the site up and running, and for all of your hard work! When I saw the words "catastropic drive failure," I about plotzed; my insanejournal is a writing journal, and the stuff contained within hadn't been backed up anywhere else. I'm extremely grateful that no content was lost. Thank you again.

    Like a few other users, I've noticed some userpic issues. Uploading new userpics is a little hit or miss -- a broken 100x100 image appears instead sometimes -- and it sometimes takes a few tries to change icon keywords.

    Also, just an FYI so you're aware of the issue, comment screening does not seem to be working. Posts set to automatically screen are not doing so.

    still not receiving email verifications for new account creations. also unable to upload multiple icons through http://www.journalwatcher.com/ with no notification as to why it's not loading. i have tried to manually upload icons and that's failing too.
