Do as I say, not as I do
Who: Sam Drake and April Kennedy
When: Current, after April's arrival post and the age swap plot's ended.
Where: a coffee-shop
What: Two people with war stories and adventure stories meet to swap those.
Rating/Warnings: We're just starting so I'll update these as needed. Both Sam and April have been homeless kids, Sam's got the whole theft, jail, piracy thing going on so...god knows.
Status: Complete!
There was something about the new kid that reminded Sam, not so much of himself, she seemed smarter than that, but definitely reminded him of a much younger Nathan in a lot of ways. He'd had his share of regret, over the years, for how badly his misguided attempts at helping had affected his little brother, even if he'd never say that to anybody's face but Sully's. He'd understood the weird twisted feeling of pride and guilt you got when you looked at something you'd created that you knew was probably not the best thing for the person who was dealing with that something.
Maybe with this new kid, there could be a chance to...something. Help a little, maybe, if only in terms of swapping tips he'd picked up through the years. He didn't know what it was like to be a girl in that situation, but he HAD managed to get through it as a boy, and while Sam wouldn't say he'd done it better than anyone, you never knew what tips might help someone out when, right?
And, besides, she seemed to speak a little of the lingo the Drakes had grown up with before everything changed. Mythology and all. That made the kid in question seem cool enough already, and hopefully it wouldn't look too creepy, Sam showing up like this. He had the tendency to forget about stuff like that until it was too late, but oh well, friendly enough town and all it shouldn't seem that bizarre, right? Hopefully, at least.
Soon enough, he'd reached the coffee shop, having been mostly ensconced in the library already, where he'd been trying to pick up on what history THIS world was based in, and started looking around, hoping he'd spot her soon.
