Who: Blaine, Sam, Finn, and Open to Anyone When: 4/12/15 (backdated) What: Blaine’s dying Where: hospital Warnings: could be triggering, Blaine dies
Blaine had been quiet all day, and that started to worry Sam. He went to the bedroom, and found Blaine unconscious on the bed. Sam had started to hyperventilate. He didn’t know how this could be happening. When he could breathe again, he texted Kurt to let him know what was going on, and called 911. He didn’t move Blaine, and he found himself starting to have a panic attack. That wasn’t going to help anyone, least of all Blaine. Sam put his head between his legs, counting to ten like he had been taught. He finally started to calm down.
This is when the EMTs arrived, and hurried in the door that Sam had left open so he didn’t have to leave Blaine’s side. Sam put his hand on Blaine’s, really wishing that he would squeeze back. Blaine’s eyes were firmly closed, and he was starting to have this scary feeling that this was the end. That it was the last moments Blaine would be alive. Sam really didn’t know why he felt that way. He just couldn’t shake the feeling. Things with Blaine had been strange all day, and for the past few days. Why exactly that was, Sam didn’t know. He just knew something was wrong.
The ride to the hospital wasn’t long but it felt like it. Sam didn’t know if Blaine would wake up, and that was terrifying to him. He wasn’t able to go with Blaine once they whisked him off to the ER, Sam answered a bunch of questions about who he was to Blaine, what had been going on, that there would be others for Blaine showing up, and then Sam was left alone to wait. He hated feeling helpless like this, like he couldn’t do anything to help. He texted everyone else he could, hoping that some of them would come. He couldn’t force them to, but he really hoped that at least Finn and Rachel would come. This really wasn’t fair.
After a couple of hours, they came to tell Sam that Blaine was gone. That there was nothing that they could do. Sam was with Finn and Kurt by then, and he could barely hear what anyone was saying. He just kept hearing Blaine is dead. Blaine was dead. That really hadn’t just happened. Sam started to cry, big tears that fell off his chin and hit the floor, it was not ending this way. They could do something, right? They could save Blaine. They had to. Sam could barely focus on anything, sinking to the floor. It wasn’t over. It really wasn’t over.
Finn ran his hands through his brown hair. That had to be a lie. The doctor hadn’t just said that Blaine was….. was…… well not there anymore. That he really wasn’t breathing in and out. His hands were shaking, and he felt a roaring in his ears. This was crazy……. insane. “Blaine…..” Finn muttered, his heart pounding out of his chest. He had to text Rachel……. and Carolyn. This was…… it wasn’t fair.
