Emmett emerged a few seconds later, tugging on his hat, and with Scout next to him, all ready to go in her vest. She sniffed at Damon a little curiously, then trotted back over to Emmett, like this was second nature now. Then again, Roman lived with her, so...
"That's probably a huge plus." Emmett nodded. "I suppose I have grown quite used to being the weird historical relic who you have to cover up piano legs around, lest they raise my youthful vigour past a socially acceptable level." The last words were quite dry. "Ah Victorian societal mores. Then again..." he glanced Damon over. "You were in the American Civil War. That's about twenty years off from me, give or take. Queen Victoria was still on the throne so..."
He waved a hand at that, dismissing the details that didn't matter SO much.
