Things could probably have been worse somehow. Probably. Emmett glanced back, and thought about pointing out that he had a boyfriend now, so Peter didn't have to hate him as much as he did. He also honestly didn't get what was so wrong about protecting a friend. Where he was from, when those were in danger, you gathered up your boys and your knives, and you went out to deal with the problem. And he knew perfectly well how terrified Roman had been, but for now, he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to be the one who risked irritating Shay here. He did shoot Roman a quick look, and managed not to roll his eyes, as much as he wanted to. Instead, he sighed, glancing at the table, then idly started tracing figures on it.
