"A good start." Ezio nodded, approvingly. "We've had apprentices not stay in the position for very long. It is about more than simply knowing something, but internalizing it, making it a part of you. And I suspect just now that Shaun is inclined to be quite careful. There was a recent security breach, so it's made us all a bit more...careful." Or paranoid, depending. Ezio didn't say those words, though.
"You have come in at the end of restructuring the top of things. Our departed member was on the governing council so with his loss...there is a bit up in the air. But the good news is that I've personally seen someone pass through the training in six months, and I suspect it could take less, once what you can do is known to us."
Philosophy was an interesting question, and one that had Ezio blinking. "Ah , understanding what others say they think CAN become easy, but knowing what you believe, wrestling with the greater questions..." he grinned at the prospect. "It IS strange. For all that I am best in field work, there is something to be said for the quieter portions of this job. You seem suited to both as well."
He'd heard, after all, of Five's abilities and intelligence and resourcefulness. "You would be the first to survive an apocalypse on your own." he said, sounding impressed. "That would afford you much time for thought as is."
The food question had him nodding. "We do try to have dinners every week, with others invited. There are some of our allies not quite in the brotherhood, but with a standing invitation for family dinner nights. Of course, no one is forced to go, but...they ARE a good opportunity for that. And, usually, I cook, though sometimes the others pitch in. I will say, though that entering into a kitchen with more than one of the Fryes is terrible luck. And Jacob's cooking skills are along the lines of egg and chips, or other fry ups as he calls them so he tends not to do group cooking...Anyway."
