"Three rules to speak of, if I may." Ezio cut in, stepping in front of Shaun, his face grave as he turned to meet Sherr's eyes.
"They were put into place to ensure the goal of this brotherhood would be met morally, without disturbing either those who are innocent and know nothing of our fight for freedom of humanity, and without damaging our capacity to act. Your choice to reveal what you did, to one not within our fold places that goal, and our own lives into danger. It does not matter if he does not act upon what he knows, it matters that you COULD have damned us all, and those we serve, and for what? Your inability to stay silent?"
There were, after all, reasons that his children, that an ally like Leonardo, that Sofia, who had known the most of the creed that he could tell an outsider, were kept from information. It protected them, and the brotherhood in turn, and frankly...
"Your choice was selfish and self serving. You would tell a stranger who may bring harm to this brotherhood of our secrets? When you had knowledge of what it is you signed on to do?" Ezio shook his head, feeling very tired.
When he came across initiates like this, there had been only one choice of what to do. And when it came to full fledged assassins, not that he had seen so many of those lack that understanding, the same procedure stood in place.
"You may trust him. Socially, he seems quite interesting. But we have been given no reason to trust him on such a level." Ezio ran a hand through his hair now. "You have risked too much."
Focusing on the group as a whole, Ezio cleared his throat.
"We are the architects of our own actions...And we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic." He'd said as much to Sofia, and still believed it now. "You have created this. And so..." he nodded at Shaun.
"I will be the first to echo your vote, Shaun. Behavior like this cannot be ignored or rewarded. There are too many others he's put at risk like this. Removal."
