"It's...I appreciate that." Emmett's smile was very shaky but it definitely was there. He sat up a little more now, trying to get his bearings as things surged around him, and Scout moved as if she were going to brace him as he tried to get up, but stumbled a little.
"...That's it then." Jacob 's tone clearly indicated that he both anticipated and wasn't going to participate in any arguments. "We're helping you inside. The machine's portable, someone can bring it to the flat too. But you're not going anywhere you don't need for a few hours at least."
"I'll be fine." Emmett pointed out, feeling like he needed to do that. There was too much at stake if he let himself look like he'd been overcome by his body here. It'd get him kicked out so fast, when he'd barely started, it had probably cost him Jacob's respect already, and he frowned at the thought but...what else was there to do but bite his lip and bear it, hmm?
"...You WILL." Jacob agreed. "You aren't right now. I know this isn't usual you. You haven't got THAT to worry about. You're only going to worry about getting rest and then initiation, got that? Just because you're MY apprentice doesn't mean I want you pushing yourself just to prove...you don't have anything to prove to either one of us, all right?"
