"Riiight, well, that is a consideration, isn't it?" Emmett had no real clue how you responded to something like that, so he just kind of let that one trail off. "Hopefully this one's better. It brought me you, so maybe it's time you get something out of it too."
He could hope the world was going to play a little closer to fair for once, couldn't he?
"Hey, you're fine now, trust me. I'm glad you got that sorted for your own sake too, and if it helps you feel better at all, it culminated in me taking off, which made Father decide he had to go after me and brought me here." He laughed a little, but clearly didn't protest the ruffling, and added a little elbow to Roman's side, just because.
"Sounds good to me. Looks like we got through first." He looked pretty proud of that fact actually. And then Scout was trying to break into the mix too, and Emmett snorted. "Yeah, you too." He told her, clearly amused, and glanced over to where the other assassins were waiting.
"So does Scout get inducted too? Get a little robe, maybe?" he called, at which point Jacob actually did make his way toward them both, grinning.
"So," he said, looking both of them over. "That was bloody brilliant." At which point Roman got a hair ruffle of his own and then Jacob glanced at Emmett a little awkwardly, before just shrugging.
"Hell with it, you have to put up with it today." he muttered, pulling first Emmett, and then Roman into a hug.
"SERIOUSLY brilliant."
"Oof." Emmett muttered, then shifted a little because ow. Still, stiffly as he accepted it, once Jacob had touched the sore arm, he clearly was happy with this turn of events. Honestly, it finally felt like things were going right.
