"You're hardly the first person to think that way. The important part is getting to a place where guilt and regret aren't equally weighed down by self blame'"He stated slowly. "Though thats always a process in itself. There's never a right or wrong way to handle it, but handling it in a more healthy manner is tricky."He offered gesturing slightly, before folding his hands under his chin a moment. Gaze flickering between them.
"Actually there's quite a few methods."He agreed, leaning forward gently. "Though given all you've told me so far, I'd like to try something more..well. What we call baby steps. Of course, again, you shouldn't get frustrated if it doesn't work at first. Feelings and thoughts that deep and strong don't just heal over night."He paused, looking between them. "Though I think for both of you, at least once a day, for a few minutes a day. Maybe even an hour, I think focusing on what I told you would work better. That instead of if onlys and what ifs,you focus on the practical. A small fact, or something small that makes you happy instead"
Settling back in his chair, absently twirling his pen again as he let them talk for a moment.
