[OOC: Basically an excuse for people to get together and talk.]
"Not a problem at all," Balthier says cheerfully on the phone. "That was Yvette. She'll bring around some pastries for late breakfast, but she's in Paris, with some kids for a video court hearing." He's wearing some pants that clearly saw painting, but the suspenders and the shirt are clean enough. Then again, it's Balthier. He tends to dress slightly like a 20's waiter or bank clerk ran into a bit more embroidery and decoration. He'd totally be in sandals if sweeping wasn't on the agenda, since the weather's lovely up here. There may be a pair in his bag.
“That works for me.” Stephen’s flexing, or trying to flex his fingers gingerly, while he thinks about it. He just got the external fixators pulled yesterday, and they’re bandaged, but nothing was stitched up. He’s going to have scars, new ones, but he’s been through that before, and well, he knows what’ll make healing the injury that Habit repeated worse, so...in a way if he avoids that, he might come out better than he was, comparatively speaking.
“I REALLY need to check out the supply store while I’m at it. We fled in kind of a hurry and I’m not even sure what all got damaged in the moment. I’ve probably got a major disaster on my hands.” Then he realizes what he’s said and snorts.
“Walked into THAT one.”
"Well, all the better to have us around. Want to walk around the place first while I set up the wards?" Balthier looks around. "Everything feels stable." Using his style of magic didn't seem like a good idea, but the idea of an alien format, using Stephen's skills to make sure it's not dangerous, was promising.
“Sounds like a decent way of going about it.” Stephen nods. “Nothing structural’s happened, I’ve got that much I can pick up on at the moment.” He’s definitely relieved by that fact. “Stability’ll help toward getting us back in here. Let’s see what we’ve got. It’ll be good to get things back to a relative normal.”
