It WAS most certainly a shame that Ezio's grand plan to get the assassins on the same page and at the same table had to coincide with some bad news from their Mentor, of course, and he felt a little bad the new apprentices had barely had the time to start adjusting, but better that they were forewarned, as Shaun had pointed out, and some others in on things from a bit further of a distance, wasn't it?
To that end, he'd had to put aside a few of the grander plans, like the Bistecca he'd been meaning to try, but it had been simple enough to manage Peposo as a beef dish, Tagliatelle Funghi Porcini e Tartufo, pasta with mushroom saucePappa al Pomodoro, a cold vegetable soup , with and Tagliere as a a starter, with a little help from a nearby deli on short notice, and Schiacciata Fiorentina cake for desert, though he hoped that they'd go slightly easy on the wine before the news was out.
He had an inkling what it was, the way he'd been working with Shaun, and frankly, it was sobering, as little as he understood the situation with Desmond and Abstergo, but at least, if they united, they'd be better able to face some of it, no?
He'd hope for it, he decided, setting out a few lighter bottles, and some sparkling waters to at least get things moving along, before bringing the Tagliere, meats and cheeses with some honey and Tuscan bread to get things started. Balthier was bringing something too, he'd been told, so that would help a fair bit, settling things along.
Right now, the only thing to do was wait, and he'd made sure the main rooms were clean enough for the actual visitors coming along, while he finished up with getting everything heated in the kitchen.
Suddenly, he had a new appreciation for the servants he had always taken for granted, along with his mother. Who had known how HARD this was to organize? Still, it felt well worth it as he finished up, before going on to stride out to the room, ready to welcome everyone who happened to be coming down, or coming, as the case may be.
