"C'mon, Mikaela," Sam continued with a huff of frustration. He didn't want to drag her out of bed or anything, because that would put her into a bad mood. No one liked to be dragged out of bed. That was the thing about waking up, you didn't want to be woken up until you felt like being awake, unless you had to be somewhere like school or work or somewhere equally as important that required you to be there on time. And they didn't have to be any of those places, so he could see why Mikaela wanted to just continue sleeping right now. But then that meant that he had to wait to give her the gift he got her, and he didn't want to do that. Waiting just meant he would be left wondering if she would hate the gift he got her, and wondering if he should go back to the store and see if he could exchange it for something else. If there was even anything else that he thought that she might like.
"Mikaela, please wake up?," he tried, as his fingers reached out to poke her gently through the blanket. He would be lucky if she didn't take his fingers off or something, with how she threw that pillow at him. Then again, she didn't have any weapons with her right now outside of the blankets and herself, so he hoped he wouldn't be at risk for losing an appendage. Otherwise he will have to rethink his methods in waking her up. At least he didn't bring in a bucket of cold water and poured it on her. He was actually being a nice, considerate boyfriend, trying to wake her up in the most gentle was possible. Instead of being a complete a-hole who actually deserved a pillow (or worse) to the face.
"Yes, I have something to show you. A surprise. For you. A surprise only for you, but if you don't wake up, I can't show you it," he informed her, nodding a bit even if she couldn't see him all that well with the way her one eye happened to be squinted. "So that means that you need to wake up. That way I can show you this surprise. Otherwise you're gonna have to wait, and it's a pretty good surprise.. I think," he reasoned, trying to appeal to the curiosity within her even more, because if she poked her head briefly out from underneath the covers, at least if he said that it was a surprise for her maybe she would be more inclined to wake up.
