Currently, Sam's mind was running a mile a minute, thinking about how at any moment some government goons could jump out and decide to take them to a lab or something equally as bad. He wasn't thinking about how his conspiracy theories were way off base, and it wasn't like they could follow them to some strange town in Anywhere, USA. Unless they weren't in the United States anymore.. it wasn't like they even really knew where they were. Great. Just great. Now he was wondering if this was some sort of a government experiment, a stress test, to see how well they would take the pressure, and if they would crumble. If they would spill on the information that they were told to keep classified. He was sure that was what this was. It could be something that Sector Seven was behind, for all that they knew. He was waiting for Simmons to bust through the door at any moment now.
As Mikaela questioned the "point and paff?" part of what Jubilee said, Sam's eyebrows came up in confusion over the rest of what she said. About how otherworldly everything sounded to him, and yet, it sort of made sense. Like the crazy stuff that she'd seen sort of matched up in terms of the crazy stuff that he and Mikaela had seen in Tranquility. But there was one word that stuck out over the rest..
"Mutant?," Sam asked in a confused tone, trying to figure out why she would mention something about mutants. Superheroes like that didn't exist. Sure, he could believe the fact that alien robots were out there, and possibility of other alien races, but he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that mutants could exist too. Maybe that was because he'd never met one before. Or, at least to his knowledge anyway, because he didn't know that the girl talking to them now was a mutant.
"Oh yeah, they'll definitely bring us some cereal. Before they decide to lock us away somewhere for like, testing or whatever, because we talked about the stuff that we're not supposed to talk about..," his tone was sarcastic as he tried to put things in perspective for them both, that they didn't know what the government was capable of! They could be anywhere, after all. A moment later however, a sheepish look found itself on his features in reference to how Mikaela was hungry, and it was partially his fault. "What, there was something off about the bathroom, alright?," he said with a shift of his eyes before looking back to Mikaela, "At least they're probably serving lunch by now? That's a lot more filling than breakfast.."
