The red ranger just looked up at her curiously as for a moment she seemed to think that he wasn't even really there or something. He could see the momentary confusion in her colors, but he didn't say anything. Mostly due to the fact that he didn't have time to say anything. To be touched and held was a strange thing after going so long without contact, he actually tensed. But it loosened. This was syd Not just some stranger. This was someone he knew and he forced himself to lower those walls of distrust and distance. At least for a moment. Syd wasn't going to hurt him, logically he knew that. But this place was so different. He felt like such an outcast all over again it was hard not to close up like day one of the Academy.
He smiled though it didn't touch his eyes like it used too. "Maybe I should go away more often.." There was a light offbeat humor still in his voice, the second time she hugged him he managed to return one and felt warmth for the first time in weeks. "...I hate this place." It took alot for him to say that about anything, Bridge was always so cheerful. Always looking for the brighter side of things, for him to actually hate something- ...it was a hard thing for him to do ever since Kat had helped him to learn about his powers and control them. He hadn't hated in so long, now with Syd there maybe those feelings would finally go away.
