Anakin laughed heartily and shook his head. "Oh no, that's everyone's specialty. Obi-Wan, the Council, the Senate...whoever feels in the mood to do so." Normally, he would show nothing but irritation at being constantly lectured about his recklessness and disregard for rules, but right now, he was happy to poke fun of himself. Despite what some might think, he wasn't entirely self-absorbed and did have the ability to be humble.
His gaze softened and he looked over at the door as well, frowning for a moment, for venturing out into the light of day meant resuming his role as Jedi, protector, and escort and pushing aside and hiding the fact that he was Padmé's loving husband. The affection he was showering on her now couldn't be displayed so openly in public, for any such signs could be detrimental to them both. And he hated it. Hated the rules, hated having to hide...what was so wrong about loving someone? He didn't understand and probably never would.
"I suppose so," he resolved with a sigh, "but first--" And he bent down and placed his lips against hers, having not had the chance to kiss his wife in what felt like ages, wanting to take advantage of this private moment before they had to hide their love from the world.
