The war may have frustrated him and made him angrier than he'd ever been at times, but it hadn't changed him - at least, not in any of the ways that would disappoint his beloved wife. He was still the same Anakin she'd married, just a more grown up, more responsible, more hardened when it was needed. He was much better at shutting off his emotions than he had been when he was a padawan, even if they still had the ability to get the better of him, but he was a caring individual by nature and nothing was going to ever change that.
"I must disagree, m'lady," Anakin urged, "you are worthy of such treatment and so much more."
He had nowhere to be, in truth, and despite knowing that Padmé was quite capable of taking care of herself, would feel much better if he was able to stay at her side until he had a better grip on what exactly was going on here. Thankfully, he could very easily use the excuse that he was doing his duty as a Jedi Knight by ensuring the safety of a member of the Galactic Senate if anyone questioned him being in her company.
Anakin grinned at her, keeping up the rouse. "Besides, evading things I'm supposed to be doing and probably should be doing is kind of my specialty."
