It was true that love was difficult for all who attempted to embrace it, but that was especially true in the case of Padmé and Anakin. Originally the senator had been certain the temptation was there to serve as a test for the both of them -- a temptation one should resist. Just because your heart felt that gentle tug to another, did not necessarily make that emotion right. And she had tried to resist. She truly did. But once she found herself faced with what she believed to be certain death, she was unable to choose duty before her emotions. Padmé could not die knowing she was lying to both him and herself.
Loving him in secret was better than not loving him all. She promised herself she would never get in the way of all he had managed to achieve in his short life. Even if at times it could be trying for them both, she too believed it was worth it.
Not realizing that her thoughts of her husband (and perhaps his thoughts of her) had brought her to Angel Grove, the brown-eyed senator found herself strangely perplexed to why she was no longer within the sanctity of her abode. There was no strange feelings to signal she had left. Not even her own instincts managed to clue her into the change. It was only by the obvious shift of scenery had she found the means to comprehend her new predicament.
Once finding the logical part of her mind, she knew standing around waiting for answers would not make them fall into her lap. First, she would find herself the needed shelter a human would suffer without, then she would worry about the rest. A feat that wasn't too difficult considering the helpful residents of her current existence.
Having only the intentions of getting herself situated with her new home, she found no reasoning to leave the door closed. She did not feel herself in any danger here and no one had shown malicious intentions toward her, so she must be safe. Possibly more than she could be in her own home world.
At the unexpected tone, the senator's gaze was quickly tore from its previous location. Detecting the formality, she kept the smile that threatened to pull at her lips and opted for showing her relief, "Anakin?"
She would ask him how he found her, but why question the obvious? Daring to step closer to him, her eyes moved to his. While wishing to reach for him, she instead held her hands formally until feeling safe to relax her form.
