Chloe blushed a little and returned that sad look, despite the grin she was struggling to keep on her face. She wasn't just hurting physically, she was hurting emotionally as well. She was drawn to him, and she knew he felt the same, but what both of them knew was they could never express it for so many reasons. His powers prevented him from getting close, and she knew that as long as Clark Kent existed she would always choose him.
And even if those issues were somehow cleared away, they were from different times, not to mention different realities. When the source of this rift was discovered and they were sent home, Bridge would go back to being fictional and she...she didn't even want to think about her status in this world. For all she knew, Clark could be the star of his own television show and she was one of his supporting characters. If that was the case, she didn't want to know.
She carefully reached for her umbrella, trying not to aggravate the pain that she'd taken onto herself. This was the cue fore her to take her leave. "Well...I just wanted to check on you, but you're okay now, so..." She let out a small, nervous laugh, wondering if Clark was listening, or maybe even watching. She had a feeling she knew how he would respond to this.
