It was the flop of the wet cloth when it hit the floor that caught the reporter's attention.
"Bridge..." she said even more softly than before, her voice filled with concern.
She approached cautiously, though she had really wanted to rush right at him. She remembered him talking about his powers, how he couldn't touch her because of them, so she wasn't about to go crazy with worried affection like she would have if it'd been Clark. She eyed the dark mark on his back as he turned and managed to keep herself from wincing. It wasn't as bad as she thought it might be, but it still had to be painful.
She put her umbrella down carefully, letting it lean against a wall, and said his name again softly as she neared him.
