Of course something about Tommy seemed off, but he made sure that Adam remained unaware of exactly what that was. It wasn't yet time for him to let Adam and the other good-doing Rangers know that he was back on the side of evil. Not for Scorpina's plans (he had no interest in following her orders; she wasn't his empress), but for his own. He was going to get those Rangers of his own means and for his own reasons, not hers.
