Claire couldn't help but wonder if her Aunt Lindsey would miss her. She doubted it. She knew her Aunt blamed her for the car accident - Claire blamed herself for the car accident. It had all happened so quickly, it too Claire days to piece together what had really happened. And now she knew. Now she knew she had one-hundred percent with all her heart tried to kill her mother that day. When she said “I hate you, I wish you weren’t my mother! I wish you were dead!” She had one-hundred percent with all her heart mean those words.
And now she couldn’t live with herself, at least not in her house. She hated everything about it. Everything reminded her of her mother, everything made her feel guilty. And then all those thoughts of her father? The looks her aunt gave her? The talks with the police…
They knew it was Claire’s fault. Somehow Claire had a feeling they just knew what she did. They knew what she was thinking.
She needed to escape, she needed to get out. She needed to go somewhere where she could become a nobody. Where she could be left alone to feel miserable, to cry herself to sleep at night, and wish with all her heart she could turn back time and not do what she did… She knew her father was right. Her mother was never going to wake up. She would be in a coma forever.
Claire was nothing less than a murder. A cold blooded, horrible, murder.
So in the night, Claire took the little money she had, then grabbed some cash from where her mom kept her emergency stash, and headed for the airport. She knew she wouldn't be able to go far, but wherever she went it would have to be better than where she was now. She had grabbed a map and then closing her eyes picked a spot on it - Angel Grove.
Claire had smiled very bitterly when she saw the name, she had actually almost laughed. Despite that she had headed off to the airport and then hopped on a bus to the place. It felt like forever getting there, and when she did, Claire lugged her gigantic duffel bag over her shoulder as she walked through the streets.
It was a nice walk, this Angel Grove place seemed nice enough. Though, Claire couldn't help but wonder if she made a mistake in coming here. Still, she had to keep telling herself it was better than being at home. At least she arrived here at night when the stars were out. Claire had liked astrology before, but now she liked it more. Not that she bothered with her horoscope anymore, but she just liked watching the stars. It was the one thing she enjoyed now. The one thing that...
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by an awful ripping sound as the bottom of her bag gave way. Groaning, Claire bent down to pick up her belongings, which had scattered all over the side walk, a few things even rolling into the street. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, with her one arm still in a sling, but she did the best she could.
