Summer listened as Charlie tried to explain what had happened, and took the phone from him when he gave up. What she was reading did not paint a pretty picture. Charlie had accused Jacqueline of sleeping with him in order to keep him from learning about the new department. The text conversation had dissolved from there into accusations and name calling. Since Jacqueline was his superior, for lack of a better word, and this was the second altercation Charlie had had with her, Summer could understand why he was worried he would be "banished to the farthest reaches of hell".
Summer got up out of her seat to give Charlie a hug. Instead of going back to her chair, she took Charlie up on his earlier offer and sat on his lap, curling her body up so that her side was resting along his front. "She say anything to you since this?"
