It was growing dark frightfully early Who: Tello & Open Where: Parlor When: Tuesday evening What: Reading Rating: TBD Status: Open/Incomplete It was growing dark frightfully early, which Tello could not help but find depressing. Pitch black at six in the evening was oppressive. He had finished his shift in the library only to find it pitch black out, and cold enough that he was not even going to consider wandering outside. Still, going outside or not, long hours of darkness truly spoke of winter and could be heavy on the soul. After long hours in the library and a rather busy week, Tello yearned to lose himself in a book. He selected Fieldwork by Mischa Berlinski, not his usual reading selection, but he hoped it might make him feel closer to those he worked with. Anthropologists were close enough to archaeologists, right? Sure.
He settled back in one of the blush chairs with a glass of red and thumbed to the page he left off on, sighing in his usual, dramatic way. Nothing against Berlinski, but he yearned for some higher English, even a bit of purple prose at this point! He may be a bit of a snob, but at least he knew what he liked. He fought with the lamp shade to try and shed the maximum amount of light on his book as he settled in to read, the quiet of the big, empty, ancient room both pressing and comforting in the same moments.
