"Thank you so much. Your sister will be a delight to have at any social gathering. I am just sad I wasn't teaching here when you were a Triwizard Champion. I would have loved to have had you come." Slughorn gave her a gracious smile.
Lavender was beside herself when Slughorn decided to stay. She wasn't sure what to do. Was there anything she could do? She sat there and stewed s she tried to figure something out.
Slughorn made tea at a leisurely pace. His hands were shaking and his nerves were getting the better of him. His tea cup rattled slightly in it's dish as he handed Fleur a cup then took one back to the chair with him.
Ready to relax, he was not ready for the bombshell Fleur dropped. His mouth fell open though he managed to shut it relatively quickly. "I see..." He looked down at his hands. "Of course, that makes all the sense in the world..."
Slughorn nodded absently. "Well, I will make sure she is put into Slytherin. Like I said, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. And contrary to all.. this...Slytherin has a proud tradition of many great wizards and witches through the ages who would never associate with some these people now.
