"What d'you expect? Snape hired the slime." Ginny wrinkled her nose in distaste. "As long as he keeps his nasty leanings to himself during class, I won't be getting detention. Half the reason I'm getting a good start on the parchment, yeah?" She smiled at Vicky. Things would get worse, Ginny was certain--but it didn't mean she would be spending her first week in detention with Carrow.
"Really?" She laughed easily at that. "It's rather interesting once you get the hang of translating--really cool stuff. My oldest brother, Bill, loved it--he's a Cursebreaker for Gringotts." Ginny seemed to expand with pride at that; Bill had always been something of her favourite, with or without the addition of Fleur. "I think the brains trickled down the line to me, yeah?"
Ginny had the decency to smile at that. "I imagine I might if Slughorn keeps on with them. He's got an affection for his own House, Slytherin, and I think he might be nervous about causing tension..." Giving Vicky a look, it was clear Ginny was figuring on the whole lot being Death Eaters or sympathizers and, frankly, she may not have been far off. "But, Slughorn also quite likes a good party."
Once she climbed the stairs and pushed into the dormitory she shared with Vicky, Ginny dropped her bag next to Vicky's bed and settled down next to her in a reclining position. "Hope you don't mind my being on your bed, mate. Easier to hear you, yeah?" She grinned. Naturally, she was thinking ahead--someone could always walk in at an inopportune time. "Oi, I'm jealous. Wish I could've escaped it. Everyone's in a panic, as you might imagine..." She sighed heavily.
Giving Vicky a curious look, Ginny raised her eyebrows. "Really, now? Anyone I know?" A grin tugged at the corners of her lips. The shortlived romance with Harry was certainly nothing to brag about, really, but the thought lingered in her mind. Perhaps she could live vicariously through Vicky, in this case.
