Heidi listened to Katie as she told her story and gritted her teeth. What Katie was saying couldn't be true. Tracey would never do that. Her fists clenched.
"Stop lying!" Heidi finally yelled, her voice uncharacteristically filled with anger. "Tracey would never lie to me or do something like that. She loves me. And Megan has no reason to lie."
Heidi had never been one for anger. She was always a gentle soul. But when it did spring up, which was very very rare, it was a fully irish level of anger. Her heritage had a history of hot tempers and when Heidi's showed it's head, it was scalding.
"Why are you lying?" Heidi asked, her voice shaking with anger and sadness. Before this she would have easily considered Katie her best friend, next to Ginny. "If I could ever see either of you doing this, which I never thought I could, it would be Ginny. But you, Katie? Never."
