Katie stood by her locker slowly putting her pads away. Practice really hadn’t been any fun. She’d been distracted and upset. First, she felt terribly guilty about what had happened with Heidi and Tracey. Secondly, she felt awful about their loss to Hufflepuff. Despite it being a secondary concern over her friendship with Heidi and Tracey, she was still worried that they wouldn’t bring home the cup the last year she was there and the year she was captain.
She’d been trying to make eye contact with Heidi for days. However, she’d received the cold shoulder at every turn. Katie didn’t know how but she wanted to try and make it right.
Ginny, on the other hand, had taken a totally different tact. She’d given Heidi and equally cold shoulder and didn’t even look at Tracey. She was still angry at them both and barely resisted the urge to hex one or both of them.
Ginny was at her locker too and there was a bit of tension between the two girl was thick before Heidi even walked in.
When she did, Katie whipped around. She started to smile until she saw her look. “Heidi,” she greeted her, still a little happy that her friend was there so they could try and clear this up.
Ginny stiffened but didn’t turn for tucking away her pads. Both girls were still in their practice robes with sweaty, messy hair and a bit of dirt.
