"I can." Heidi insisted. "If they change their minds, which they won't, I can take care of us both. If they cut me off, I Can make my own money. I have my own money, I'm not completely helpless without my parents funding." Heidi said, a hint of annoyance on her voice. She still didn't get why Tracey was so paranoid.
"It does matter." Heidi said firmly. It mattered a lot. "Who was it?" She looked Tracey in the eyes, seeing if she was holding back. "Is that it?" she asked, searching for complete honesty.
Clenching her fists, Heidi shouted. She never shouted. "Why won't you trust me?! Let me help you!"
Clenching her jaw again, Heidi withdrew from Tracey and paced to the lockers, taking deep breaths and running a hand through her hair.
