Who: Eleanor Branstone and Garnet Lavenia Draiden
What: The Valentine’s Ball
When: Feb 14, 1995. Friday night, 8pm
Where: Near the Great Hall.

Elly had been super annoyed when the canceled the Valentine’s trip to Hogsmeade. Dumbledore had said that it was a safety precaution, there had been renewed rumors that Death Eaters might try and do something, so the trip had been cancelled a dance scheduled instead.
She’d gotten a few boys that’d asked her to be her date, however she got the idea that they were asking her because many at school considered her a “sure thing” after a few things she’d admitted at a party or two and an indiscretion or two. Elly had developed a reputation as a bit of a slag.
So, Elly decided to go stag. Plus, she could have plenty of fun on her own. She hadn’t had a chance to find out if Garnet had a date for the ball. Elly supposed she would find out soon enough.
Wearing a blue satin dress and black shoes that we more straps and heels than anything else. Elly hoped no one stepped on her toe since the end of her shoes were open. It wasn’t really something that she normally would have worn. However, it was a ball…

Who: Megan Jones and Lavender Brown
What: Megan runs into the girl both she and Claire are crushing on so bad.
Where: The staircase by the Great Hall.
When: Friday night, just after dinner.

If there was one thing that Megan loved about Fridays it was being able to go to dinner without having to wear her school uniform. She might have even liked that better than not having to go to class for two days!
Megan's hair hung loose over her shoulders and she had put on some dark eye make up before she came down. She wore a black hooded sweatshirt and pink babydoll Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt, trainers and tight, hip hugger jeans. She could feel the stares of some of the Slytherins at how much she looked like a Muggle, but she didn't care.
She saw Claire staring at her bum in her tight jeans. She gave her best friend a sly smile, but spent dinner with her friends at the Hufflepuff table while Claire stayed with her Slytherin housemates.
Though she had no idea why, Megan had been driven to complete distraction as of late. Maybe it was her escapades with Claire? That was certainly possible. Maybe it was the tension with Hannah? That could be it too. Plus, was she crazy or did all the girls seem to be giving each other looks lately? After all, Megan had put on make up to come to dinner! She hadn’t even done that at her boy-craziest when they were still at Hogwarts!
Finishing dinner, she decided to skip dessert. She had been bad lately! Heading out of the Great Hall, she made her way to the stairs. Distracted by something that sounded really naughty that a group of fourth years said, Megan bumped into someone lightly.
"Oh sorry," she said, turning around. "I thought…" She trailed off as she saw Lavender Brown was the person she'd bumped into. Lavender stood there in all her blonde beauty and Megan smiled a bit awkwardly. "Sorry." |
