Now she was a Slytherin again. After Sara was just saying that she should be expelled from the house, suddenly they were comrades in arms again. It made Tracey feel sick inside. It made her even sicker that it didn’t dampen her temptation any.
Tracey was about to give in. She was about to throw caution to the wind and just give in. Then she said that. Tracey pulled away and whirled to face Sara. It was obvious her nostrils were flaring as she stared at Sara.
“You can make fun of me all you want. But I did care about you and I did wonder what we might have,” Tracey told her.
“As far as Heidi…” She chewed her bottom lip. “I might love her, I don’t know…” Tracey looked at her. “And what is between us is between us.”
“I still cared about you. Until today.” Tracey shook her head. “The way you treated me…” She sighed in disgust. “I thought that maybe…one day…we might have something. Thank you for showing me how wrong I was.”
Tracey took two steps back away from Sara, ready for her to react…badly. However, as she stood, Tracey showed the most poise and strength she’d likely ever shown Sara.
