Tracey giggled. “You’re right, you’re right. I lost my head. What was I thinking?” She smirked at Sara over her shoulder as she neatened rows of small hand bells.
Happy that Sara couldn’t see her face, Tracey paused a long time before answering. “Well, that really wasn’t what I said, was it?” Her tone was light and friendly, but she chose her words very carefully. “I just said that no one I was interested in seemed interested, that’s all.” Tracey knew she shouldn’t have risked it, but she kept using gender neutral words for a reason. Should she dare hint? What would happen if Sara guessed and was disgusted? “So, yes. Someone. Maybe even a couple of ‘someones’,”she added a moment later.
Tracey stared at Sara for a long time, at least it felt like a long time. It felt like forever…
She had never wanted to kiss someone so badly in her entire life. Then, it looked like Sara was going ot kiss her! Her heart felt like it was going to pound out of her chest. Her eyes slowly closed, then Sara was gone…
Opening her eyes, she was terrified. Tracey dropped down to start to pick things up. “Sorry, I ca-“ Lightly, she bumped her head against Sara’s as she reached for one of the metal bars.
She looked up at Sara completely horrified. Standing, she tried to put what she had scooped up away. Normally, when something like that happened, she never would have turned her back on a fellow Slytherin. But anything Sara did would be better than the possibility that Sara discovered that she almost kissed her!
