That didn't sound very promising. In fact, she started to wonder if it'd ever get back to normal. They were friends. Friends occasionally had accidents and saw more of the other than was needed. It wasn't as though they'd snogged or slept together. It was just a silly mishap that shouldn't destroy years of friendship. She sighed and stared at her feet, feeling disheartened.
For the first time in what seemed like ages, Katie smiled. A real, genuine smile. Sure, there was still a bit of tension but whenever food, specifically fattening food, was mentioned, she was always game and Oliver definitely knew of her love for burgers and chips. "A man after my own heart," she said, though she flushed a bit. She always appreciated a good burger. More often than not, to be honest. Oliver would probably turn over if he really saw her eating habits. Turning around, she headed out of the locker room.
Once they arrived at the pub, Katie sat down across from Oliver and tried not to feel uncomfortable. The momentary sense of normalcy that had flared up at the suggestion of food seemed to intensify in the close quarters of the pub. "So," she said, crossing her legs nervously under the table. "How're things?"
