"Good luck with that," she teased lightly. Hermione couldn't help but look over at the lasagna to see if it was burned or something, but it didn't look like it was. That was good. She would keep an eye on the time and the bread so that it didn't get burnt. She was just glad there was garlic bread and she didn't have to worry about stupid things like not eating it because it made her breath smell funky.
They did seem to think alike. She really wasn't going to stop what she was doing and go eat instead of finishing her work. That would be such an un-Hermione like thing to do. She just liked to be focused and in the zone and if she put something down to do something else, chances are she wouldn't feel like going back to finish it. That just wouldn't do. Best to finish things before she went onto the next. It just meant that she would have to deal with eating less. There wasn't anything wrong with that. It was just lunch. It wasn't like she skipped every meal.
"It's only one a day," she protested when Harry brought up that very thing. "I eat breakfast every day. Maybe my dinner isn't exactly up to par, but at least I try and eat." It was easier being in her own little world so that she didn't have to deal with all of the other things. "I'm working closely with the House-Elf Relocation program, but we're butting heads with a lot of the people about how we're supposed to go through the various channels. Bloody bureaucrats can't ever make a stand."
She sighed and rubbed her temple slightly. "Check on the bread, Harry."
