Lexi laughed. "I wasn't offering." And she hadn't been. No. She'd been making a point, narrowing down her intentions for someone who wanted to figure them out. For even if he was pretending he wasn't bothered by her presence, you simply couldn't help but think of intent when an individual made it seem as though they had one and Lexi always moved as though she had a specific intent behind every action. She did, for the most part, it just wasn't that easy to figure out.
She raised an eyebrow at his response. "Hiding?" she responded, her skeptical look kept in place to keep her amusement at bay. "Well, you're not doing a very good job of it, I'm afraid." She continued to keep her suspicions to herself, let him think she meant only his presence. She didn't mind.
She smirked, leaning forward to reach for the shot he'd shoved toward her. She used the opportunity to study his features more closely. She didn't respond immediately, taking the shot first, before sliding the empty glass back across the table to him. "I find the devious plots are best saved for places other than the Hog's Head," he said, leaning back into her chair. "Call it curiosity, if you need to call it anything."
Returning to her ale, she shot him with a look that clearly stated her next question shouldn't be of any surprise. "Who are you trying to hide from?"
